About Me

This is my twelfth year teaching in Banks County.  I taught fifth grade for eight years and third grade for four years.  I am originally from Habersham County.  I currently live in Demorest, GA with my husband and two children, 9 and 7I graduated from Habersham Central in 1995 and went to Truett McConnell College for two years.  In 1997, I received my associate’s degree.  I received my bachelor’s degree in 1998 and my master’s degree in 2001, both from Piedmont College.

Some of my hobbies include deer hunting with my husband and children, shopping with friends, spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, spending time at the lake, and spending time with my family.  During hunting season your child will probably tell you all about my hunting experiences, good and bad.  I enjoy teaching and getting to know each and every child on a personal basis.  I also enjoy getting to know each and every parent.

I also use the agendas as a form of daily/weekly communication between the parent and teacher; therefore, it is important for a parent to check and sign your child’s agenda nightly to stay updated on your child’s weekly progress and daily homework assignments.  It will be the child’s responsibility to write down his/her daily assignments in the agenda and to bring it home each day to inform the parents of homework assignments.  The agendas serve as a tool for the student, parents, and teachers to keep you informed of the child’s progress in each subject area.

In order for your child to have a successful year, I feel that communication between teacher and parent is vital.  You may contact us at 706-677-2308 in the morning between 7:45-8:00 or after school at 3:15-3:45.  Please feel free to contact me with your questions and concerns.

I look forward to having your son/daughter in my class this year!
